1 year postpartum Diastasis

Hugging a real baby tummy vs hugging a DR tummy😆⁣ I was around 32 weeks pregnant with Jordan on the left. That weight was unstoppable and I wasn’t even at full term yet. My back literally could snap in half if I didn’t have a belly binder. He was a summer baby, so I could barely walk for more than 15 minutes in the heat.⁣

That pointy belly was the reason why I have so much loose skin and a severe 4.5 finger gap diastasis recti. I had no idea though, and people thought I was carrying twins. ⁣

I remember I was looking at my belly shortly after birth and thinking to myself why do I still look like 7 months preggo? Maybe it is normal?! Then, 3 months gone by and there wasn’t much improvement. It was such a struggle to self-confidence.⁣

Every time I look at the mirror I want to punch it! It’s SO discouraging. I am an average Asian girl so even with gaining a lot of weight, the most obvious part was still the belly sticking out, it was so hard to find clothes to hide it.😐😐⁣

✔️For new mom or pregnant mom who is reading this:⁣

➖ask your midwife or OB about Diastasis Recti, educate yourself⁣
➖start wearing a belly binder as soon as given birth to provide support for healing the abdominal walls and get a flatter tummy sooner. The one I wear is by Bellies⁣
➖ start doing gentle core exercises when your doctor clears you⁣
➖be mindful of your movement or the way you stand as you lift, breastfeed your baby and push the stroller⁣
➖provide yourself with great nutrition to restore the elasticity of the skin and repairing damaged cells. ⁣

If you are still a little confused, I talk about it in my diatasis recti guide. Free to download, link is HERE!💕🙋⁣
