Can we all give this mama a big hug and a pat on her back ! Congratulations to my latest Tummy Warrior🎆🎆

Her before photo reminded me of myself. And even her story was similar to mine. After her first kid, she did running and cardio and lost some weight but she never really understood what Diastasis recti was. She tried to be consistent with her routine found on YouTube but it wasn’t clicking with her body.

And after her second baby, everything was more unmanageable and harder this time.

With this mama, we approached her with nutrition right away, I sensed that bloating and inflammation was one of the main contributing factor to the bloated belly on top of her 4 fingers DR. She was amazing and very receptive of everything we taught her through our conversations.

Not only that, we worked on her posture as you can see – hunch back, forward head and a little bit of posterior pelvic tilt from clenching her bum ( which a lot of us do with or without knowing).

This Tummy Warrior has been a pleasure to work with, she never missed a check-in with us. In fact, she actually was quite harsh on herself sometimes thinking she didn’t make enough progress.

As a woman and mom, I feel like we always find stuff to critic ourselves, it is like in our nature to do so, don’t you agree ?

Mama, there is really only one question you should ask yourself everyday – what can I do better and make me happier today ?

When you marry “better” and “feeling happier”, it is a permanent solution !

I am so sooo sooo proud of you Tummy Warrior !!

Wonder what results could look like for you in 3 months?
How about losing some inches around the waist and a healed DR?

This mama’s diastasis recti isn’t significant, and she also didn’t have any weight to lose. She was already quite skinny and was skinny throughout her pregnancy, hence her belly got really stretched out. If people were to look at her from the back, they wouldn’t know she was pregnant.

Some people say when you carry a boy, you carry him in the front, and when you carry a girl, you carry her across the abdomen? Have you heard of this? Or maybe it is a Chinese old waive’s tale 🙂

Regardless, the stretched skin is quite prominent, and not only the stretched skin, the superficial layer of the muscle were also stretched from her 2 pregnancies.

We worked on the inner core first to heal the DR, and we then slowly build strength overall as she hadn’t exercised in over 1.5 years. We started her slow to build stamina and cardio strength, and also made sure her back pain reduced before we introduced weight exercises.

It has been going well, and as you see, 3 months of discipline and consistency can yield big changes!

She is just like any other busy mom, but she chooses to fit her workout in at evening time after her kids sleep or work out with her younger one together. She is conscious and making an effort on her nutrition and portion intake.

This mama is making this her healthy and active lifestyle, instead of 1 shot and done. I am so proud of you Tummy Warrior, you are beautiful and you are amazing!🎉🎉🎊🎊

*HOPE* ♥️If there is 1 word I can use to describe the journey of this mama, that’s the word – Hope.

Mama of 1 baby, a triathlon runner, stayed fit during pregnancy, not overweight, the chance is that her diastasis recti shouldn’t be that bad.

You see, 100% of moms who carry their baby full term are affected by diastasis recti, and about 33% of moms will naturally heal by the 3rd month postpartum. For our Tummy Warrior here, she was the other 67%.

At 6 weeks postpartum, she knew her tummy wasn’t going to shrink on its own, so she started doing physiotherapist, where she was introduced to hypopressives breathing techniques, as well as Indiba. Indiba uses radiofrequency, a non-invasive treatment, to stimulate cell growth and collagen reproduction.

As you see, she saw significant improvement in the abdomen’s appearance. However, when she reached out to me at 1 year postpartum, I asked her to check her diastasis recti gap and depth, it was 3 fingers wide and 2 knuckles deep.

Namely, Indiba worked well for shrinking her belly, it helped with her skin and fat burning that it claimed to do. However, it didn’t do anything internally for her, she felt weak, and she couldn’t connect with her mid-lower core muscles.

On the other hand, she practiced hypopressives breathing (aka vacuum breathing technique), it helps connect her core and pelvic floor, but the techqniue wasn’t functional. Basically, you vacuum seal your breath and become apnea for a moment.

At the start of the TW journey, this mama had a tough transition to the 360 breathing that I teach. But the word “difficult” is non-existent for this mama. Her work ethic is admirable. We hopped on calls, she submitted workout videos, and we helped her bridge the gap to merge her hypopressive + 360 technique together.

I am incredibly proud of her. Not only did gap, depth, inches, improve but also her lower core strength now! She can run without feeling it is stressing her core. She can fit into her clothes confidently. 15 months of hard work!! Congratulations Tummy Warrior. 🎉🎉You brought hope to all of us.
